Mildred Bailey was probably the best white female jazz singer who ever lived. Billie Holiday fans will bust my balls for this, but in my opinion Mildred's version of "Lover Come Back To Me" is the best ever recorded. This photo, inscribed to "Dot" and probably from the 1930s, is in very good condition except for the small pieces of tape on the margin (visible in the scan). Married to Red Norvo (we also have a signed photo available of Norvo!), Miss Bailey died in 1951 and her autograph is hard to come by.
