A muffaletta is a sandwich. Some people pronounce it muff-a-letta, some say moof-a-lotta. Round bread. Olive salad. Meats and cheeses. Sound simple? It's not.
Many have attempted imitation, but there is still only one muffaletta in the world for me, and that's the original and genuine article from Central Grocery on Decatur. In fact, I am deeply addicted to the things.
The service at CG may be reminiscent of Seinfeld's Soup Nazi at times, but hey, these people are serious about their craft. There is a science to making a sandwich that good. They have time nor energy for niceties, so don't expect any, buster!
